Migration

October 20, 2010

We are leaving Kaua‘i, our home of nearly 5 years. Nick accepted a fantastic  work opportunity in Santa Cruz, California so we’re off sometime early December. Never been to Santa Cruz before and never really seriously thought about becoming a Californian either! This has been a decision a loooooooooong time in the making with countless conversations centering on the question, do we stay or do we go? Just when the scales began to tilt towards stay, bang! They dropped convincingly in the other direction with this job offer.

It’s a change that is excitingdauntingsadstimulatingscary all at the same time. Which is a good wake up kind of feeling, as in “whew, this is life we are living here.”

So soon, incredibly and somewhat alarmingly soon it will be time to say so long, and thanks for all the coconuts.

I predict much introspection in the posts to come over the following 6 weeks.

Trina, after consulting a magic 8 ball the sign points to “outlook good” that you’ll be coming to visit us in California. I believe Henry wants to see some baby otters cracking oysters on their impossibly cute fat bellies.
